Consumers say that the convenience of charging both at home and at work is helpful in choosing to drive electric.

We’re offering employers in our service area rebates for installing an electric car charging station for use by employees, the public or both:

  • Up to $1,000 for a single-plug, fast-charging station (charges one car)
  • Up to $1,500 for a dual-prong, fast-charging station (charges two cars)

Local employers can join Alliant Energy in participating in the U.S. Department of Energy workplace charging challenge.

Workplace charging increases the number of electric-driven miles—a win for consumers and the environment.

Electric vehicle technology has also improved. Consumers are often surprised by electric vehicles’ qualities:

  • instant torque
  • quiet and smooth ride
  • financial savings

Earlier this year, we announced a rebate of up to $500 for EV drivers who are also our electric customers to install faster, Level 2 chargers at home.

In coordination with Wisconsin Clean Cities and Iowa Clean Cities, we will be participating in National Drive Electric Week with events for our customers in September. Details will be announced soon.

During the month of August and September, Nissan is offering a discount on the all-electric Nissan Leaf. Details are available at Wisconsin Clean Cities. Information about discount availability in Iowa will be announced soon.
